| Banner Elk Chamber Summer Concert in the Park: Whip Daddys |
Date: 8/30 - 8/30
Concert starts at 6:30 PM and is held at the Tate Evans Town Park stage off Highway 194 behind the Bank of America. There will be raffle tickets sold for wonderful prizes and a cash drawing. There will be several food vendors from which to choose or you can bring your own. Come unwind with us, "shake a leg" on the dance floor, listen to great music and socialize with wonderful people. Friendly well-behaved dogs are permitted on a leash.
About the Band: The Whip Daddys have been performing in the Banner Elk area for over 15 years. Some of the faces have changed in that time but consistent has been the vocals of Hope Harvey, the vocals and sweet sax playing sound of Dennis Murphy, keyboards/guitar/vocals of Ed Main and vocals and instrumental spot man of Dave Calvert.
The band still actively plays at Esseola Lodge and The Apple Barn primarily on a "word of mouth" basis as we have not advertised collectively as a group in years. We're one of the best "Wedding Bands" around. Our song selection caters from 20 to 60 year olds performing the best of Beach, Motown and Dance Music.
Contact Dave Calvert for booking information at 828-387-7605.
About the Sponsor: Frank & Mary Watts are individual members and Frank is a Board of Director of the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce. They are valued members of the Chamber and the Banner Elk community.
